13 Bullets — When Life hits you with its toughest blows 🥊
“Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth.”
— Mike Tyson
When you hit a roadblock or get completely knocked off your feet from one of life’s uppercuts, what do you do?
A. Do you stick to the plan and persevere?
B. Do you re-evaluate your plan and adjust for the roadblock in the future? or
C. Do you abandon the plan altogether
Although A and B sound like the “right” thing to say, in reality, most choose C.
Why do most abandon their plans when adversity hits?
Because adversity can sometimes feel like a punched in the mouth from Mike Tyson!
That’s WHY!
I read somewhere that a punch from Mike Tyson is equivalent to 1,600 joules!
That’s like being hit by thirteen (13) 22-caliber bullets all at one time!
That would put anyone on their back —
Oh yeah, except those who choose to stick with the plan and persevere — (those who chose “A”)
Here’ the catch — — EVERYONE (even the A’s) chose ‘C’ at some point earlier on.
Everyone has abandoned their plan.
They all:
- got hit with a ton of bricks
- felt what it’s like to get hit THAT hard
- realized they survived
- And then they re-evaluate their plan and get back in the boxing ring (choice B)
- and continued that cycle until they (and their plan) were strong enough to take the hits and keep moving (choice A)
Ask yourself:
Is your plan realistic?
Is the plan missing key resources?
What changes could be made to improve the plan?
What changes do YOU need to make to improve YOURSELF?
What you do after getting hit by Life’s toughest blows is vital to the quality of life you will lead.
