When will your Big Idea Expire? 💀

When will your Big Idea Expire? 💀

NEWS FLASH:

Most of our “bright” ideas and concepts have an expiration date.

YEP. Just like your milk, ice cream, & meat products.

They all expire at some point. They’re not permanent.

(Even your canned goods go bad at a certain point.)

What works today will likely be obsolete in 10–15 years.

Most will expire sooner — lasting for only 18 months.

This is explained well with MOORE’S LAW.

Moore’s Law states that information doubles every 18 months.

With this constant injection of more information, come new better ideas.

Ideas that can completely disrupt any ideas existing prior to it.

That’s why most ideas expire — they become obsolete in 18 months.

So how do you give your precious ideas a longer shelf life?

Use this Formula:

New Idea + PRINCIPLES = Longer Shelf Life

  • Infuse the idea into something permanent — PRINCIPLES
  • Build new ideas based on PRINCIPLES, not TRENDS.
  • PRINCIPLES are Timeless, Evergreen — they have no expiration dates
  • The more principles involved, the longer you extend the idea’s life

So, when a new Trend emerges, your ideas aren’t swept away with all the other trendy ideas —

Your idea can live to fight another day.
